An Intellectual Portrait

| "We need not take refuge in supernatural gods to explain our saints and sages
and heroes and statesmen, as if to explain our disbelief that mere unaided
human beings could be that good or wise."" |
Abraham Maslow
An Intellectual
Portrait |
An Intellectual
Portrait was written by Richard J. Lowry, editor of The
Journals of A. H. Maslow, and also a friend and former student of
Abraham Maslow.
A clear and intelligent appraisal of Maslow's work, with special focus on
Maslow's major theories and his unique vision of human nature. Also, it
provides a fascinating look at Maslow as a young psychologist - Maslow's
early writings, influences, and mentors.
The
book also includes
Maslow's self-actualization research: The "Good Human Being" Notebook.
It contains the following chapters:
-
Ideals and Over-Beliefs
-
Human Motivation
-
Self-Actualization
-
Peak Experience
-
Value, Religion, and Science
